Digital Audio System E-MU1820
In het professionele marktsegment is de E-MU1820 van Creative de meest betaalbare oplossing voor een homestudio in een PC-omgeving. Voordat je begint met de installatie van de kaart zijn er een paar belangrijke aandachtspunten.
Wanneer je ooit een geluidskaart uit de Audigy serie hebt gebruikt op je PC moet je op het volgende letten. Na het plaatsen van de E-MU PCI-card zal de Windows device manager onmiddellijk proberen om de oudere versie van de Creative-driver te installeren. Zodra er een melding van Windows XP komt, en de "Found New Hardware"-box verschijnt, of bij Windows 2000 de "Microsoft Digital Signature"-waarschuwingsbox verschijnt, moet je die bewerking afbreken. Erg belangerijk!
Vervolgens zet je in de BIOS-setup de ingebouwde geluidskaart van je PC uit.
Bij de setup van Steinberg's Cubase SX in combinatie met de E-MU1820 is het belangrijk om in Cubase uitsluitend de E-MU ASIO driver te gebruiken. Wanneer je de kaart gebruikt op 96 kHz en op 192 kHz dan ondersteunt deze niet de Steinberg ASIO Multimedia of de DirectSound/MME drivers.
